One of the two wharfs where the boats arrive at Ilha do Mel and leave to Pontal do Paraná is located on Praia Nova Brasília, which is a strategic site seeing that it is half way between Farol and Fortaleza beaches.
That’s why most people like to camp there; mainly those who don’t mind the intense movement of people walking to and fro and the simple infrastructure of the place.
Some years ago, Praia Nova Brasília experienced a curious phenomenon: it almost disappeared. The tide rose excessively on Nova Brasília beach as well as on the Farol beach submerging part of the village that now is separated by a long strip of sand. |
